3D Painting My work today has been founded within the language of painting and that dialogue is something that runs consistently through to the present. In earlier works like the ones pictured above I would often use found objects or materials as a counter balance to paint because I was interested in an association or a particular reference towards painting. Either the objects physicality or its reference to the subject matter would come to the fore in a way that would allow me to examine and question the difference between the real and the represented. I was trying to create a dialogue or a space in which I could analyse the language of representation within its traditional context.

In my latest work you could say that I'm still following this analytical approach to language and meaning. I analyse and dissect, then I use the appropriate media to put it together again. I'm exploring the problem that language has in terms of representing the real from a pheneomenological standpoint by exploring the links (and separations) that language manufactures .
